Biographical Information
First Lieutenant Epperson graduated from Officer Candidates School in 2021 as part of the Officer Candidate Combined course. He then graduated from Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, IN in 2022 receiving a B.A. in Economics and then commissioned in May 2022.
Upon commissioning, Second Lieutenant Epperson reported to The Basic School in Quantico, VA where he graduated with Echo Company 5-22 and received assignment to report to Fort Sill, OK. Upon completion of Marine Artillery Office Basic Course 3-23, Second Lieutenant Epperson was assigned the Primary Military Occupation Specialty of 0802 Field Artillery Officer.
In June of 2023, Second Lieutenant Epperson reported to 2d Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA. From June 2023 through December 2024, Second Lieutenant Epperson was assigned to Battery F, where he served as the Fire Direction Officer and Headquarters Platoon Commander. He promoted to First Lieutenant in May 2024 and deployed with Battery F on the 24.2 Patrol for the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit from May 2024 to November 2024.
In December of 2024, First Lieutenant Epperson reported to Fire Support Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. From December 2024 through April 2026, he was assigned to Company F, 2d Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Twentynine Palms, CA to serve as the Company Fire Support Officer. In September of 2025, First Lieutenant Epperson deployed with Company F in support of Unit Deployment Program-West 26.1. In May of 2026, First Lieutenant Epperson reported to Arizona State University's Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps to serve as the Marine Officer Instructor.
First Lieutenant Epperson's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award. He is married to Malyia East and has no children.
