GySgt Fike enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2011 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. Following recruit training he reported to Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina and earned the MOS 3381 Food Service Specialist.

GySgt Fike has deployed around the globe on three different occasions including one tour to the middle east under Operation Enduring Freedom with Combat Logistics Command 28. He has also deployed on two Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU) including the 24th MEU, and with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines on the 31st MEU while holding the billets of Assistant Chief Cook and Mess Chief.

GySgt Jarvis also served 3 years on Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island and held the billets of Drill Instructor, and Senior Drill Instructor.

GySgt Fike's personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps achievement medal with three gold stars in lieu of Third award.
