Lieutenant Haidvogel is a native of Libertyville, Illinois.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was commissioned through Reserve Officer Training Corps May of 2021 and was designated a Surface Warfare Officer in May 2023.

Lieutenant Haidvogel completed his Division Officer tours on board USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60) as Main Propulsion Officer and First Lieutenant from April 2022 to April 2024 and USS STOCKDALE (DDG 106) as Navigator from September 2024 to February 2026.
 

Lieutenant Haidvogel has been awarded the Joint Service Achievement Medal with “C” Device, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with “C” Device (2), and the Combat Action Ribbon. He is also the recipient of the 2023 ADM Arleigh Burke Operational Excellence Award.
