GySgt David Jarvis

Assistant Marine Officer Instructor

Biographical Information

GySgt Jarvis enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 2009 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Following recruit training he reported to the School of Infantry (SOI) at Camp Pendleton, California and earned the MOS 0311 Infantry Rifleman.


GySgt Jarvis has deployed around the globe on 6 different occasions including the middle east under Operation Enduring Freedom with the most decorated Infantry Battalion in the Marine Corps, 2nd Battalion 5th Marines and 2nd Battalion 6th Marines while holding the billets of, Rifleman, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant and Company Operations Chief.


GySgt Jarvis also served 3 years on Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego and held the billets of Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Chief Drill Instructor. Along side this, GySgt Jarvis has completed 2 rotations at Officer Candidate School as a Sergeant Instructor.


GySgt Jarvis' personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps commendation medal with one gold star in lieu of Second award, Navy and Marine Corps achievement medal with three gold stars in lieu of Fourth award, the Combat Action ribbon and the Outstanding Volunteer service medal.
