LT Emily MacMillan

Biographical Information
Originally from Trabuco Canyon, California, LT Emily MacMillan graduated from Arizona State University in 2016 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She commissioned via Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island in November of 2016. After graduating Basic Division Officer Course in March of 2017, she reported onboard USS Sampson (DDG 102), where she served as the Strike Officer and the Legal Officer from May 2017 to February 2019. During this time, she earned her Surface Warfare Officer qualification. By the end of her tour, she had completed multiple underways to include one Fifth Fleet deployment. LT MacMillan graduated from Nuclear Power School in Charleston, South Carolina and then went on to qualify Engineering Officer of the Watch at S5W Prototype in Charleston, South Carolina. After completing power school and prototype, LT MacMillan reported onboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), serving from April of 2020 until June of 2022 during its Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) maintenance period. While onboard the George Washington, LT MacMillan served as a Reactor Propulsion Division Officer and qualified as Propulsion Plant Watch Officer and Nuclear Engineering Officer on the A4W propulsion plant.
LT MacMillan reported to Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (NROTCU) Arizona State University (ASU) in July of 2022 to serve as the Nuclear Programs Officer.
Her decorations include three Navy Achievement Medals, as well as numerous unit commendations and awards including two Battle Efficiency Awards. LT MacMillan resides in Chandler, Arizona.
